Opening the Gate to Success

Parkgate Primary School

Home Learning

As parents and carers you play an extremely important part in supporting your children with their development whilst they are at Parkgate. Thank you for your support at home with work and also with keeping in contact with the school and class teachers. This communication provides us all with the opportunity to encourage and nurture the children.

Each child has a home learning journal with tasks outlined linked to their topics. These have deadlines which the children should work to. Besides this, year groups will send home learning specific to them.

Each week, children in key stage 1 and 2 will recieve a weekly letter for parents. On this class teachers state what the children's learning will focus on for the next week. Any support or reading around these topics would help the children enormously.

Reading at home is vital. Any opportunities the children have to read with somebody is fantastic and the children will grow in their appreciation of reading. Please add comments to the chidlren's reading records.

Below are some useful links to websites which outline learning and expectations of children in different year groups.

There are web links on the year group pages which link to their current learning.
